This is a very old recipe for sugarplums that may be 100 or more years old.
They are just as tasty today as they were way back then and they don't even need baking !!
- 1 cup soft butter or margarine
- 1 1/2 cups confectioner's sugar
- 1/4 cup cocoa
- 1/4 tsp. almond extract
- 1/2 cup finely chopped blanched almonds
- 2 cups uncooked quick oats (oatmeal)
- some flaked coconut
Beat butter and sugar together until creamy.
Blend in cocoa and almond extract; mix thoroughly.
Stir in almonds and oats. Chill for 2 to 3 hours.
Form 1 inch balls from the dough mixture and then
